The mission of OFA is to promote the health and welfare of companion animals through a reduction in the incidence of genetic disease. We are proud that Maximus is part of the OFA Databases and DNA Repository & is CHIC Certified.
We plan on obtaining Bonnie & Isabella's OFA & CHIC certifications by the end of this year.
Embark Genetic Testing
Embark DNA genetic health testing was completed on Maximus, Bonnie & Isabella. All three TESTED CLEAR for degenerative myelopathy (SOD 1A) a progressive degenerative disorder of the spinal cord, tested clear for myotonia congenita (CLCN1 Exon 7) a muscular disorder, and tested clear for a full range of genetic diseases including those of the eyes, kidney, bladder, brain, spinal cord, heart, gastrointestinal system, neuromuscular, skin & connective tissues.
