We are a small breeding program in east Texas that primarily focuses on two main objectives. First and foremost, keeping this amazing breed true to their original roots. Making them stronger and healthier with each litter born. The second objective, and just as important as the first, is health. Our puppies are purposely & responsibly bred for health with a strong emphasis on temperament and socialization. All of our parents have been genetically health tested. We are committed to providing families with a healthy, top quality pet and companion.

The Official Standard for the Miniature Schnauzer (as taken directly from the American Miniature Schnauzer Club website)
• A robust, active dog of terrier type, resembling his larger cousin, the Standard Schnauzer, in general appearance, and of an alert, active disposition.
• Size – From 12 to 14 inches. Sturdily built, nearly square in proportion of body length to height with plenty of bone, and without any suggestion of toyishness.
•Allowed colors: salt and pepper, black and silver and solid black. All colors have uniform skin pigmentation, i.e. no white or pink skin patches shall appear anywhere on the dog and the nose must be solid black.

We consider ourselves traditionalist & preservationist when it comes to this magnificent breed. We only breed black and silver, salt and pepper and solid black.

Black Gold's Maximus Artimus aka Maximus or Max is our brilliant black & silver AKC registered Miniature Schnauzer male. He is the foundation of our program. This flashy boy comes from an AKC Grand Champion pedigree. He weighs approx. 20 lbs. Although Max's looks are bold & striking & his pedigree perfect, it’s his temperament & personality that sets him apart. He is a sweetheart. He’s perceptive, wonderful with children (babies to adults), compliant and eminently calm. He enjoys running as fast as he can outside... showing off his speed & agility. Maximus is the total package. He produces beautiful little carbon copies of himself through his puppies.
Maximus is OFA (Orthapedic Foundation of Animals) certified & part of the CHIC certification program.
Black Gold's Bonnie Blue aka Bonnie is our salt & pepper Miniature Schnauzer charmer. She is now retired. Bonnie is feisty but is such a snuggle bug. This sweet girl is deeply devoted to us. She is loyal & protective to all in our family, not just one. She enjoys snoozing on the couch or playing outside with the pack. Bonnie was a fantastic mother and her puppies are well rounded, happy adults now.
Black Gold's Dark Princess of Braveheart aka Isabella is our Ukrainian, solid black, AKC registered, Miniature Schnauzer. She comes from a long line of European Champions. She is a robust, stout girl weighing about 20 lbs. She is immensely sociable. Isabella will go out of her way to make friends with anyone. She craves human companionship & love. She is a great communicator. She actually "talks" to us. When in need of a potty break, or desiring our undivided attention, Isabella will vocalize in a low, subdued "woo-hoo". This is our favorite personality trait of hers. Isabella is highly affectionate, intelligent and playful. She enjoys chasing the pack around or chasing tennis balls during playtime outside.
